Of the Czars appointed to the White House, everyone thought Van Jones was the worst. Communist, extreme environmentalist, racist. He was all those things and probably more but at this point, he was not the worst. Believe it or not, the one guy that DID go through congressional vetting and WAS approved by congress is far scarier. Cass Sunstein’s the name, Constitution trampling’s the game.
Sunstein is an educated guy, a prolific writer and lawyer. He is a tenured professor at Harvard and has had the eyes and ears of some of the most influential people in politics. He is also a personal friend of Barak Obama. Barak even set him up with his current wife. How cute. Sounds like a good guy right? I’m sure, as an individual, he doesn’t beat his kids, smoke crack or steal. What he does do, though, is represent the single biggest stumbling block, in the current administration, that stands between the Constitution and the people in this country today.
Cass Sunstein believes in the right to bear Arms, as set forth by the Second Amendment of the Constitution, but not that it applies to the individual’s right to bear arms, only the State to form a militia. Do you think he forgot that our founders didn’t just perpetrate a letter writing campaign but actually shot at the British from time to time? Did he forget the Revolution or even the Civil War? He states that, while not believing that the Second Amendment grants the right of personal ownership, he does feel it grants the peoples’ collective right to use firearms in the act of defense of country and tyranny. I am wondering how one right could be exercised without the other? Are we to make firearms appear out of the ether if and when they are needed? Do we not have the right to bare arms in the protection of our lives and property?
Also a proponent of litigating and legislating person behavior, Susnstein has written a book named Nudge. In this book he proposed that because people have a propensity to make bad decisions, it is the responsibility of the government to pass laws that “nudge” it’s citizens into making better choices. In essence, we are not smart enough as individuals to make good decisions so we should be made to live the way he feels is proper or face breaking the law. This coming from a supposed constitutional law expert. This also ties into his desire to give animals the classification of “person” with the same rights as human beings. I guess we know who he feels should inherit this planet and it isn’t us knuckle dragging monkeys.
Saving the best for last, he believes that the Supreme Court should not be interpreting the Constitution. He has stated several times that he deems the President more fit for such activities. Do you think it is a good idea to vest that much power into the hands of one man? The very nature of the Constitution is to define and limit the powers of the executive and congressional branch. He would put the power to essentially rewrite 233 years of constitutional precedent in the hands of the very man it is supposed to limit. How does that even REMOTELY make any sense at all?
The American Spectator quotes an unnamed White House source:
“The goal from this White House is to have as much nonspecific language passed by Congress in policy areas like health care and the environment and then use Sunstein’s office to put in place the regulatory language called for by Congress that gets us to where we want to be. It may very well be the most important job in this administration, given the lack of success we may have on Capitol Hill.”
SCARY
Where the hell does Obama find these people?! These are not main stream people. These are not the types of people you run into at the grocery store or around the neighborhood. He has systematically surrounded himself with these far left loony radical thinkers for years now and I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that they are surrounding him in the White House. What does surprise me is the lack of outrage. I wouldn’t let this sleaze into my house while I’m on vacation to feed my fish, let alone advise the President of the United States. How did this guy make it past Congress with a 57-40 approval? I’d love to know. How can we get rid of him? I’d love to know that as well.
Tell your friends and family. Let the people who count know that we need change in Washington with REAL transparency and REAL representation. Not these crazy Marxist loons bent on population control and a “fundamental transformation of America”.
This is STILL a FREE NATION. For now…

The right to stand up for ourselves exists without laws and legislatures. We will protect out families and loved ones, without considering the consequences of those actions, for they have no bearing! The right to bear arms is and was essential to protecting not just ourselves from the occassional trespasser, but from any enemy who would dare invade and attack this country. The power of any nation is based upon its citizens. Therefore, it only stands to reason that a powerful citizenry makes a strong country. And I am all for that!
But, living in an urban environment, where illegal guns do a lot of killing, often of innocent and a lot of times babies, (ages 4-12), I have to wonder, what is the right balance.
Nonetheless, having stated what I have stated, it should be remembered, it is the criminals, who are arming themselves with illegal weapons to use against a legal citizenry. Law abiding citizens, by following the legislated provisions, have no weapons. The citizens who obey the law, are therefore putting themselves at risk, by following the law. Therefore, whom does the “Law” serve. Those who can afford profeesional services in terms of bodyguarding, or “police” of whatever ilk, or the criminals?
Sometiimes a law, by its very nature is illegal. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. I refuse to walk down that road, you’ll have to drag me scrreaming, kicking and biting. I’ll never voluntarily take that road, that path, just because it is easy. I would rather walk a stony path in bare feet to protect the rights of my child and loved ones. I just believe it is too simplistic to lay all the blame on one political party or another. Rather I believe that anyone who tells you to do as they say, because it is in your best interests, is a liar, and has a personal agenda.

You ask, “How did this guy make it past Congress with a 57-40 approval?” The answer is simple, the Democrats have mustered themselves and they tend to vote the party line rather than voting their conscience (should they even have one of those pesky things). They do not seem to care about what’s right or wrong, constitutional or unconstitutional, citizen’s rights, state’s rights, or the will of the people. Obama was an exception to this as he had a tendency to vote “present” (probably just to show that he *was* occasionally there). They may change their tune or stance a little closer to election time. Remember that a tune and stance is just a song and a dance. As I have heard it said the problem with the republicans is that they don’t follow through on their promises and the problem with the democrats is that they do follow through with their promises.

For the first time in my life of 68 years, I don’t trust that the President and Congress have the best interests of the American People as their first priority. Nothing says more than than Nancy Palosi’s comments dismissing the Tea Parties and Town Meeting dissent. They govern with the consent of the people, not in spite of the peoples stated desires.
If the word CRISIS is used by the President or Congress, look ctitically at any thing they propose.
If they continue to jam bills through without posting them for at least a week for the American Public to read and understand they before a vote, tell your legislator that yours is one vote lost in their next election.
Make your position known on any bill you feel strongly about. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. It is the only thing which will save our precious Republic.
